tone. Most of the subjects are framed without familiar reference points. Lack of a greater context makes them difficult to recognize and classify. They become abstract, otherworldly, and sometimes almost psychedelic not what they looked like in real life but a new extension of that reality. I want the viewer to reconsider reality and look at these images as if they are seeing something alien and fascinating for the first time. While I hope the images elicit serious concentration and thought, I also intend them to be playful and beautiful objects to look at. Alan Vlach |
